Meet The Team

Welcome to Bear Meadows!

We are so excited you are here!

Hi, I’m Kaz, the heart and hands behind Bear Meadows. My lifelong passion for plants and design blossomed into a professional path when I earned a degree in horticulture, specializing in landscape design. This education gave me both the technical expertise and creative vision to work in harmony with nature. That academic foundation deepened my understanding of cultivating beauty and harmony in the natural world.

My hands-on experience as a greenhouse assistant taught me the art of nurturing plants to thrive. Beyond the classroom and workspaces, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering at Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia, as well as Monticello's Tufton Farm and vegetable garden. These opportunities allowed me to work with diverse plant species and connect with the rich history of horticulture.

At Bear Meadows, I’m passionate about growing flowers that bring joy, mark milestones, and create lasting memories. Every bloom carries a story, and I’m thrilled to share that with you.

Thank you for visiting Bear Meadows, where beauty is cultivated and shared one flower at a time.

Meet The Rest of the Team!

man working in garden

Steve works part-time on the farm and handles the heavy lifting—literally! From sourcing truckloads of compost to managing anything motorized, like tilling and mowing, he keeps things running smoothly. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him!

Ginny, one of our beloved resident Corgis, keeps a watchful eye on the farm's daily activities. She warmly greets visitors and diligently patrols the grounds to keep deer away from the flowers. If you stop by the flower stand or attend one of our workshops, be sure to say hello to Ginny.

Luna, our other sweet Corgi, absolutely loves attention and is always up for a good petting. She's a total beauty queen—and she knows it! Despite her glamorous side, she's a true farm dog at heart, happiest when she's outdoors keeping an eye on everything.
